· “UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller” Round-By-Round Coverage
Friday evening’s "UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller” event, from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., saw another lightweight contender will fall to the back of the line, while another will likely rebound from a recent defeat to keep his name in the running as a potential contender to the championship. MMA Spot is in the arena and bringing you live round-by-round coverage of this FX and FUEL TV-televised event.
Nick Denis vs. Joseph Sandoval
Round 1 - Denis comes out strong pressing the fight, he bombs away at Sandoval with hooks. They clinch and a series of elbows knocks Sandoval out and stops the fight.
Official Decision – Nick Denis wins by KO at 0:22 of Round 1
Pat Schilling vs. Daniel Pineda
Round 1 - Schilling and the two trade leg kicks. Pineda lands a good punch. Pat Schilling lands a solid combination. Pineda gets the fight down and quickly works to get Schilling's back. Aftwer a few moments of trying to escape Schilling finally gives in to the rear-naked choke submission.

Tommy Hayden vs. Fabricio Camoes
Round 1 - Hayden touches up and looks to jab. Hayden with a slapping leg kick. Hayden hits Camoes coming in with a good right. Camoes looks to shoot several times, each time Hayden delivers some goos punishment. After Camoes gives up a submission attempt, the two stand and Hayden gets a good takedown. Hayden takes Camoes' backand looks for a submission, but in the scramble Camoes gets back to a guard position. Camoes looks for an armbar, but Hayden pulls free. Camoes gets a trip on the break works from the top.Camoes gets Hayden's back and works hard to get the submission. Eventually Hayden gives in to the choke.

Daniel Roberts vs. Charlie Brenneman
Round 1 - Brenneman landsa quick left, and takes Roberts down. He works to get side control, but Roberts controls a leg. Brenneman showboats for a moment before landing a punch. Brenneman takes control with a crucifix position, and lets the strikes fly. Roberts frees his arm, but is still being controlled. Knees from Brenneman, and he works Roberts toward the cage. Less than a minute in the round and all Brenneman, but Roberts was able to stand in the final seconds of the frame. 10-9 Brenneman on MMA Spot's unofficial scorecard.
Round 2 - Roberts throws a high kick, and Brenneman imediately shoots for a takedown. Brennemanon top, and passes the guard into side control. Roberts is again caught in a crucifix position.Aftyer taking some damage Roberts gets free and back to guard. Roberts works for an omaplata position, but is nuetralized. Herb Dean stands them up, and its not long before Brenneman again looks to get the fight down. Roberts secures an arm and uses it to sweep. Roberts now threatens a choke from the top, but Brenneman defends until the bell. Brenneman again takes the round 10-9.
Round 3 – Brenneman gets the takedown to open the round, moving directly to side control. After some arm fighting, Roberts regains guard and is stood up. This time Roberts shoots, but is stuffed. Brenneman back on top. Roberts tries to control Brenneman's arms, but cannot grab a hold. He finally grabs a kimura, but Brenneman survives until the final bell. Another round likely for Brenneman, 10-9.
Official Decision – Charlie Brenneman wins by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Kamal Shalorus
Round 1 - Nurmagomedov circles tothe outside, staying way from the wrestling of Shalorus. Shalorus shoots in, but is stuffed. The two reset, and Nurmagomedov lands a good left. Nurmagomedov attempts a front kick that misses. Nurmagomedov raising his chin as he punches. Nurmagomedov lands a lead uppercut, and Shalorus fires back. Shalorus starts to pressure, and is dropped by a counter punch. Nurmagomedov swarms, but is unable, after repeaqtedly landing good shots, to put away Shalorus. Shalorus gets bak to his feet, eats another good combination, and fires right back. The two men trade punches wildly until the end of the bell. Action-packed first round goes to Nurmagomedov 10-9.
Round 2 - Shalorus comes out looking to land a haymaker. He misses and shoots. Nurmagomedov stuffs it and takes down Shalorus. Nurmagomedov gets to half guard, and looks to free up his arms to strike. Back to a standing position, Nurmagomedov shoots in and gets the takedown. Nurmagomedov looks for a dominant position, but Shalorus deends well, getting back to guard. Yamasaki stands the action back up at that point. Nurmagomedov excites the crowd with a jumping front kick-hammer punch combination attempt. The round ends with Nurmagomedov taking another round.
Round 3 – Nurmagomedov opens the round missing a big lead uppercut. Shalorus shoots, but is stuffed. Nurmagomedov shoots, but as he's stuffed he comes up swinging and connects on a good left. He shoots again, this time Shalorus grabs a guillotine, but can't finish it. Nurmagomedov swims to Shalorus' back and finishes the fight with a side choke.

Eric Schafer vs. Jorge Rivera
Round 1 - Schafer clinches and looks for a takedown, pushing Rivera across the cage, finally getting him down. From half-guard Schafer drops some elbows. Rivera gets back to his feet,but is still pinned along the cage. Schafer gets the fight back to the ground, where the action slows. Schafer methodically works his position, but Rivera does little to oppose him. Schafer seems to be looking for the mount, when Rivera sweeps him. Schafer rolls to an omaplata and delivers a few elbows until the bell sounds. 10-9 round for Schafer.
Round 2 - Rivera comes out aggressive to open the round, but finds himself defending the takedown again. Rivera stuffs it and lands several good punches on Schafer. Schafer tries to defend along the cage, but Herb Dean had seen enough, and calls a stop to the fight.

Christian Morecraft vs. Pat Barry
Round 1 - Morecraft opens with a jab, and catches a Barry kick. Morecraft quickly looks for Barry's neck, bur Barry defends, and stands back up. Both men connect on jabs, Barry landing the cleaner punch. Morecraft is being beaten to the punch, and looks for a takedown. Barry grabs for a guillotine, but loses it and is on the bottom. Morecraftmounts, and Barry spins. As Barry tries to escape out the back door Morecraft catches an arm for an armbar.Barry defends again and gets free. Barry throws a head kick that is mostly blocked. Barry lands a jab that rocks Morecraft. As Morecraft hits the ground Barry lands several more shots for good measure.
Official Decision – Pat Barry wins by knockout (punch) at 3:38 of Round 1
Jared Papazian vs. Mike Easton
Round 1 - Papazian and Easton go toe-to-toe in the clinch for a few seconds, before Easton pushes the fight into the cage. Papazian switches and presses Easton into the cage. Back-and-forth they switch, trading knees and short elbows. Yamasaki separates them, and the action is reset. Papazian tries to catch a low kick, and lands a good straight punch. Easton continues to stalk Papazian, countering when possible. Both men trade hard leg kicks. Both men miss with big exchanges and Papazian smiles at Easton. The round ends toe-to-toe in the clinch, the same way it began. Very close opening round, could goeither way. Our unofficial scorecard gives it 10-9 to Easton.
Round 2 - Papazian still circling the cage, asEaston leaps in with a hook. Papazian lands a knee to the body and Easton lands a right-left combination. Easton lands another good shot, but the two end up in the clinch along the cage again. Both men working in tight until they are reset in the center of the cage. Papazian lands a good right to close out an exchange, but gets back on his bicycle. Easton gets a trip takedown, and quickly moves to side control. Papaziangets to his feet quickly. Easton lands a good right and gets a takedown just before the bell, taking another round.
Round 3 – Easton opens up the round with a flurry of punches, but is pinned against the cage. The two are separated and Papazian says he was hit low. Time is called back in. Papazian looks to land some damage with kicks, but most are checked. Easton digs a powerful right to the body. Papazian and Easton stand toe-to-toe again, trading punches. Neither man flinching with each other landing. Papazian lands a left, answered by one from Easton. Easton knocks him down with a sweep, and lands a right to Papazian on the way back to his feet. Back to the center of the cage, they exchange again. Papazian lands a good uppercut, and the fight ends in the clinch, with that round close for Papazian. This one will be a tough decision for the judges.

Josh Neer vs. Duane Ludwig
Round 1 - Ludwig and Neer clinch and look for position against the cage. Ludwig breaks with a good knee attempt. Ludwig backs up Neer with a knee and a hook to the body. Neer lands a short right that backs up Ludwig. Neer looks for a takedown with a single leg, and eventually gets the fight to the ground. Ludwig is able to get to full guard and secures a guillotine. Neer squeezes and Ludwig goes unconcious.
Official Decision – Josh Neer wins by technical submission (guillotine choke) at 3:04 of Round 1
Jim Miller vs. Melvin Guillard
Round 1 - Guillard and Miller touch gloves and quickly Miller looks to press the action. Guillard with a flying knee, and then drops Miller with a right. Miller gets back up and looks to clinch. Guillard lands another good punch. Guillard misses on a head kick, and Miller pushes the fight into the cage. Guillard stuffs the takedown attempt. Miller lands a good counter right, and eats aknee as he completes a takedown. Miller gets to full mount. Guillard spins and Miller takes his back. Guillard tries to stand and shake, Miller, but he resets the choke and rolls Guillard over. Once on his back, Miller easily finishes off the submission and win.
