Donny “Eagle Eye” Walker was always a steady prospect who just paid his dues on the local scene, and after seven straight wins and a run as the featherweight champion of the highly respected Ohio-based NAAFS organ- ization, he finally got his shot in the UFC against Jeff Hougland at UFC 132. Walker lost a unanimous decision to Hougland, but he got better as the fight went along and clearly won the third round of the fight. Now returning to the UFC for his sophomore outing, Walker will take on Ken Stone on the preliminary card at "UFC Fight Night 25" this weekend. MMA Spot recently caught up with Walker to discuss “The Ultimate Fighter,” Ken Stone, and Walker’s future in the UFC.

The most important thing for a UFC fighter to do? Win fights. But even on top of winning, a fighter who can impress UFC President Dana White and matchmaker Joe Silva can keep the “UFC fighter” moniker attached to his name even if he has a slip up or two. One such fighter who has seemed to win over White and Silva is Justin “Fast Eddy” Edwards, a Bellefontaine, Ohio-based fighter who made his way into the UFC through “The Ultimate Fighter 13.” MMA Spot was recently able to catch up with Edwards to discuss his career thus far and his fight at UFN 25 against Jorge Lopez.

Bellator has taken to signing many of the sport’s top prospects, and one name that has been on the verge of breaking out is Cleveland, Ohio’s Brian “The Predator” Rogers who signed with the organization over the summer and will make his debut in the middleweight tournament this weekend at Bellator 50 against Cincinnati product Victor O’Donnell. Rogers comes in riding a six-fight first round knockout streak that has earned him the attention of some of the sport’s biggest names, and he plans on continuing that streak through the Bellator middleweight tournament and into a fight with current world champion, Hector Lombard. David McKinney recently caught up with Rogers before his fight this weekend to discuss his thoughts heading into the tournament.

When rumors first surfaced that the UFC was on the verge of signing three fighters from the famed Wolfslair Academy, many U.K. fight fans had their fingers crossed that one of them would be light heavyweight Tom Blackledge. Those that have followed the English fighter know of his dynamic fighting style and ability. Despite his 10-6 record, Blackledge is always a split-second from ending a bout—likely why he was one of the recent acquisitions for the world's premier MMA promotion. MMA Spot’s Jamie Kennedy had the pleasure of speaking to Blackledge from his training camp in Sydney, Australia, where the heavy-handed striker could hardly contain his joy in the thought of making his debut against native Australian Anthony Perosh.

At BAMMA 4 it took Welsh pugilist John Phillips just one minute and 34 seconds to put veteran James Zikic to sleep, which lead to calls for John to be next in line to face Tom "Kong" Watson for his title. For one reason or another that fight has not been able to materialize. However John Phillips returns to BAMMA for the third time to face the very experienced Frenchman Jean-Francois Lenogue at the M.E.N. arena in Manchester, England on February 26. MMA Spot’s Jamie Kennedy caught up with Phillips to find out his thoughts on the fight, his desire to train with American Top Team and much more.
